Live Oak Preserve is a 1,300 acre community dedicated to preserving its natural surroundings, including the 100 year old oak trees that populate the community. At the center of Live Oak is its nearly 8,000 sq. ft. clubhouse complete with a fitness room, library, a huge resort style pool, tennis courts, basketball court, and children's playground.
Live Oak is located east of I-75 off Bruce B. Downs Blvd and is really in a great location. With the recent completion of State Road 56, which is about a mile from the entrance to Live Oak, residents have great access to both I-75 and I-275.

Live Oak is being developed by Transeastern Homes. Transeastern is also building the majority of the Live Oak Preserve homes. With phase one just about complete, Transeastern has just started selling home sites in phase two. When complete there will be close to 1,600 Live Oak Preserve homes, in 16 different neighborhoods, with prices ranging from the low $200,000's for a townhome, to the $600,000's for a large single family home. In addition to the Townhome Series, Transeastern is building three series of single family homes in Live Oak Preserve. The Cottage Series has homes ranging from 1,600 to 2,900 sq. ft., the Village Series has homes ranging from 2,000 to 3,300 sq. ft., and the Plantation Series has homes ranging from 2,500 to 4,100 sq. ft.
Live Oak has two brand new schools inside the community, Turner Elementary School and Bartels Middle School, both of which opened in 2006. Wharton High School is located directly across the street from the entrance at Live Oak Preserve.
