Well just yesterday I posted a story about how Tampa Bay was attracting higher paying jobs to the area; little did I know one day later there would be such a big announcement regarding H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center &amp; Research Institute and pharmaceutical company Merck &amp; Co. It looks like the two companies are creating a joint company to develop drugs for the treatment of cancer.&nbsp;

The Greater Tampa Chamber&rsquo;s Commaittee of 100 reports that although the number of jobs created in 2006 is down from 2005, the average salary for new jobs is up.&nbsp;The average salary for new jobs created in 2006 was $43,469, which is up from $38,796 in 2005.
