Life... it makes you laugh...

So I got up this morning determined to whittle down my inbox and as always got a little sidetracked by clicking over to a comment someone posted on my facebook... I've been busy. I've neglected reading my facebook, so of course I sat leisurely sipping my coffee and reading posts - (like I didn't have anything else to do).
One of my clients posted this to her FB page and it totally made me laugh. I thought I'd share for all the moms and dads out there that are in the middle of that toddler stage and looking around their home going "what the heck just happened here?" I was reminded of what this was like twice this past week. My beautiful grandchildren Aedan and Miles came to visit - whoa! Loved every second... but I had that same feeling. After day 2 I…
Tampa Bans Sprinklers - New Water Restrictions
Monday, December 21st, 2009 at 2:50pm. 148 Views, 0 Comments.
Beginning April 3, 2009 you'll no longer be able to use your sprinklers to water your lawn and landscaping. City council members passed new watering rules Thursday night, essentially banning the use of sprinklers systems (even the kind that attach to hose).
For now you'll only be allowed to water your lawn by hand, one day a week, on your assigned day, between 6 PM and 8 AM. Properties with an address ending in an even number, or the letters A through M, will be allowed to hand water on Tuesdays, and properties with an address ending in an even number, or the letters N through Z, will be allowed to hand water on Sunday. Fines for violators range between $100 and $450 and water enforcement personnel are patrolling the streets 24 hours a day, seven…

June 1 is the official start of Florida’s hurricane season. That means it’s time to rush up on your disaster preparation—a disaster plan and supply kit will go a long way toward helping you and your family keep safe during a storm.
Create a Family Disaster Plan
A family disaster plan is a checklist of things you can do before and during a hurricane if you live in a vulnerable area. It includes important skills, items, and information that will help you see a storm through.
- Learn about your home—in what ways is your property most vulnerable to flood or wind damage? Try to find ways of minimizing the risks.
Standard homeowner’s insurance doesn’t usually cover flood damage, so check your current policies to make sure you’re up-to-date,…
Florida Home Inspections: The Six Most Common Problems

I’d like to thank Dave Day with Dave Day Professional Home Inspections for helping us with this article. We’ve been working with Dave for close to five years and Dave has to be one of the best in his field. It be difficult to find someone more knowledgeable and professional that Dave Day. If you’re in need of a home inspection, you can call Dave at 727-510-1063.
There are plenty of important things to think about when you’re buying a new home—the price, location, size—so it’s easy to underestimate the importance of routine matters such as the home inspection. For the buyer, a home inspection is particularly important because it pinpoints any areas where the home might need repairs. Without a home inspection, unwary home-buyers might find themselves…
No More Hurricanes!

No more hurricanes?!?! Seriously??? No, not exactly... however recent studies by scientists at the University of Miami are showing that global warming is having a serious effect on the creation and duration of hurricanes in the U.S. In fact, because of a phenomenon known as "wind shear", which is the strengthening of crosswinds due to the warming waters in the ocean, scientists are realizing that hurricanes are not necessarily any more frequent now than they were in the past. Actually, they may be forming at lower rates and less are making it to landfall. So does this mean that the rise in homeowner's insurance due to the possibility of hurricanes is really not fair? Perhaps, but time will tell if this study proves true or not. For more information on…
Using Ancient Wisdom to Choose Your New Home Site

I like to think of myself as a practical kind of guy. I believe in things that you can see and touch and calculate. I believe in things that make a difference. I believe that when things are broken, you fix them – but first you make sure that they really need fixing, and the fix is the right thing to do. So you can imagine my basic thoughts on an ancient “art” that suggests mirrors deflect bad spirits and lighting candles in a corner makes wealth feel at home and comfortable.
I also like to think of myself as an open-minded sort of guy, though, so when a friend insisted there’s a lot more to feng shui than candles and mirrors, I thought it was only fair to learn a little more about it. After all, one of the major branches of feng shui deals with…
