Moffitt and Merck Announce Joint Company - 170 High Paying Jobs for Tampa

Well just yesterday I posted a story about how Tampa Bay was attracting higher paying jobs to the area; little did I know one day later there would be such a big announcement regarding H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. It looks like the two companies are creating a joint company to develop drugs for the treatment of cancer.
The joint company to be called M2Gen Inc. is expected create at 170 high paying bioscience jobs with an average salary of $80,000 and add $1 billion to Hillsborough County’s economy over the next few years. In addition, county officials stated they expect talks to continue next year for a second phase of this project.
The exact location of the new company is still undecided, but its expected to be somewhere in eastern Hillsborough County.
