101 Ways to Market Your Home

Vflyer provides a wide range of templates for your flyer, but maybe you just want something completely different. Lucky for you, Vflyer also allows you to create your own template with a simple template editor. Creating your own template allows you to style your own unique look that stands out from the crowd. Here’s a step by step walk through to creating your own unique Vflyer template.

  1. You can either work with a flyer that you’ve created, or create a new one for your template. Either way, you need to log in to your Vflyer account. Then:
If you are working with an existing flyer, click on the “Flyers” tab, then select the flyer that you want to edit from the list of flyers.

If you are creating a new flyer, select type of flyer from the dropdown box in the Create Flyer box, then click “Create Flyer”.

  1. Enter a title, and check off at least one item in each field that you’ll want in your flyer.
  2. Scroll down in the editor to find the “Template – Look and Feel” field.
  3. Click on the “Create New” link beside the Preview box.
  4. You are now in the template editor, on the “background” tab. On the right hand side, you’ll see eight background swatches, with links to more swatches above. Click on a swatch to see it as the page background for your flyer. If you’d prefer a solid color as the page background, you can set that by clicking on the colored square beside “page bgcolor”, then selecting the color that you want as a page background.
  5. Click on each of the background color squares to set the colors for your flyer background and the backgrounds for each of the titles on the page.
  6. Click on the “Title” tab to move to the Title settings page. There you can choose the font, weight, alignment and color for the text in the title bars on your flyer.
  7. The “Description” tab allows you to set the font, weight, size, alignment and color for your description text.
  8. In the “Attributes” section, choose the font, color, weight and size for the attribute sections of your flyer, as well as the color for your divider line.
  9. The flyer changes as you make changes to it, so you can see the effect that each change has on your design. When you’re happy with it, click on “Save Theme” in the upper right hand corner, and then click “Return to Editor” to return to the editor and finish your flyer.

Design Hints:
-          Keep the page background simple. Your house pictures should be the star of your flyer. Busy backgrounds look unprofessional and distract attention from your photos.
-          Choose two to three colors as your overall flyer theme to minimize distraction and maintain a professional look.
-          If you choose to mix and match fonts, choose no more than two and try to choose compatible fonts. For instance, you might choose Georgia for your titles and Arial for all the description and attribute text.
-          If you want to blank out the title bars, make them the same color as the flyer background. If you want to eliminate a title entirely, make the text the same color as the title background.
-          Be wary of bizarre color combinations. Take your cue from the default templates – monochromatic color schemes can be quite classy.
